Annual ryegrass should be swathed Monday or Tues. Agronomist for the seed company says it's a good stand.

Spring wheat is filling nicely. Looks better than last year. Could be astounding yields. Maybe a couple weeks from harvest.

The canola is the most amazing canola crop ever on our farm. Huge pods, with seed filling nicely. The later canola on sprayed out hayfield is improving every day. It might be in a time crunch to beat an early frost.

It's nice to see one area have some great luck with Mother Nature! I don't wish bad on any farmer!
Never have never will! Only thing in canada all the planning on the world Mother Nature still holds all the cards in this northern climate! We grow a crop on the fringe area it only makes sence!
So please keep posting good luck with harvest!
You will be shipping and delivering a month to 6 weeks ahead of us in the east!

Sask3 Your post does sound like a whiney spoiled brat who normally gets his way but isn't. Sorry but have to call you out. You only seem to want the typical coffee shop whining about everything and not the facts. There are nice crops out there and it would serve you well and your marketing to see that

              Tom,

Too bad your dad won't be around to watch you fill the bins this fall. Hope you and yours are coping with your loss.

Aville is full of grumpy old men. Oh well.
Got the kids for 2 weeks. Pig roast sat.night. Lobster boil Sunday night. Work on equipment as much as can during day.
                Peas coming quick.
So far I'd say mbdog right. %20 less than last 3 years average. Bottoms up!

                  Thanks Crusher!

He loved this time of year... and is enjoying it from the other side no doubt! Now he is a blessing from above!

Rain on the 25th at his passing to new life... was so fitting to the time he spent here working with our crops. He regularly talked with our crops and encouraged them!

I believe it made a beneficial difference!

                  Cheers!

I have called him out before and vvalk is right , god forbid someone have a good crop besides him. Man you post like a child sometimes - be happy for someone who is fortunate - there are many good crops here and west - get over it - it's a fact. The next 5 years it may be reversed - that's farmin..
One early frost and a lot will be in the same miserable boat as you then you can be happy for 5 min again....

Our crops look good, for the beginning of July, unfortunately it is not the beginning of July. Canola in full flower... again, barley tillering....again. Big hail damage almost 2 weeks ago, everything wants to recover, will see if mother nature wants to allow that. Most looked very good before that, aside from the wet spots, which were surprisingly large for as dry as it has been. The winter that wouldn't end with record snowfall, all of which soaked in, seeded into cold mud, stayed cold and wet for a month, then no rain for over a month and highs of 30, then two hail storms in 2 days.

In my travels I haven't seen many crops that compare to last year, nothing outstanding, lots of water damage, hail damage, and too dry. Lots of Canola was done flowering 10 days ago, that is unusual.

SF3, please keep the reports coming, with or without the drama, both are fine with me.
