Getting another good rain here now. My canola just a few flowers left. Has been a perfect July for it. It is a better crop than last year now. Lots of moisture to fill pods right up. Hoping for some heat in august.

Canola is going to surprise some and going to surprise some! One good and one bad! All the breeding in canola still can't make a shit looking crop into a bumper.

I upped my min yield to 40 from 35 over the last week. After walking in lots of pods forming and still in full bloom perfect canola weather. This is later canola and probably the best for many miles around. Ask klause. I dont know of a canola crop as good as mine sniff sniff. Untill you get 75 miles west. Lucky *******. Meanwhile us in sask setting targets will have no movement cause the railroads need to move to s as legislated.

Funny how you guys look at fields. Last night heading back to city it was amazing how white lighter spots are showing up in fields all way back. Hm no yield loss, your all right. Canola is done flowering and later fields are now just shutting down. Mother nature determines your yield not you. You feed it and nourish it but the weather still picks winners and losers.

Are there any Temps above normal this week in western Canada ?
I agree with s/f that temps above 28 combined with moisture stress can and is yeild limiting.... But I think you need to change your weather station info. I seen no abnormally high temps for this week - and still don't . Although some areas could use a splash of rain to help finish most areas are not burnin up with high temps .

Furrow this year is different the roots are shallow on all crops in the flood zone.
Just out side of Regina on Heavy Clay saw some lighter plants.
Some haven't seen moisture since the July 5th storm.
