    Rain amounts???

At South West Sask near Leader.

We have had close to 3 inches since last Saturday August 16.

Lentils are starting to bleach and shell out , peas are shelling out and canary seed is lodged over.

    Looks like more rain coming.

Be fun combining lentils once it drys up a bit.

The satellite looks like it is stuck at the American border.

        May 50mm
        June 60mm
        July 45mm
        August 8mm
        Total 163mm

        Normals:

        May 62mm
        June 94mm
        July 113mm
        August 79mm
        Total 348mm

6.5" instead of our normal close to 14"

Crops are early for this area - peas are off, some barley swathed.

Not just less than usual - less than half our usual.
            Not everyone is getting flooded.

I believe only 2002 and 2009 have been drier for this time period since regards began.

Look at the Foxwarren radar. Manitoba, Estevan, Weyburn look wet.

Sumdumguy. Interesting comparison..... load both Foxwarren and Bethune in seperate windows and size them so they both fit on your monitor at the same time. Compare Estevan in both. Estevan is about the same distance from either station but the intensity is somewhat different.

Oh, to stay on topic. We've dodged alot of heavy artillery fire (bullets/rain) so far this year, I hope the trend continues for us. But saying that, where there was water in spring(worth noting) there is still water now and it hasn't receded much. Even some little shallow pot holes were a little too muddy to swath through and some not, had to check. While straight cutting peas, where there was a decent canopy, if you looked behind the header you'd notice the bottom of the seed furrow was still black (wet looking). Lots of moisture around even though we dodged alot of the big rains.

Good luck harvesting everyone (sincerely!!). Stay safe.

Farmaholic, I often wonder about the accuracy of Environment Canada's radar. There seems to be a disconnect between their info and what we are experiencing live.

SE Alberta--on my fields from 62 to 90mm starting from Wednesday afternoon when wheat harvest was interrupted by a 28 mm downpour.
