I agree with cotton and S/F - quality issues in a big part of western Canada, will make heads spin by Oct..

There may be a train of lows rollin trough central Alberta over the next 10 days - maybe not a lot of precip but steady shit for that time period. That may be followed by a heavy frost by around the 10th for most of western Canada - will know more in about 5 days.
By the 10th most crops out west left out should be out of danger though. East of here ?????

Furrow - I've asked you before but what weather service are you using? I have predicted a frost even for September 10th for the last few days based on the info I gather. Might be cutting a couple fields four or five days before they should be cut just to beat it.

Just starting into spring wheat here in S AB and shut down due to rain last night. Will likely get showered out tomorrow night as well. Very little grain will go no 1 around here this year by the looks of things.

Some say I'm hate full of Alberta. No I have just been always stating a fact.
If your two weeks behind in crop development, your now swathing or trying to strait cut. If it rains like it does out our way during harvest but gets hot during the day. Welcome to my world. Its down grade of crops.
Just stating a fact. Also it looks like our shitty weather is moving west instead of east. Maybe we are getting a break this week in East Sask

Yes the central east and South of the province got wet last week. For most of the province, things are progressing well. Alberta may be marginally behind normal but not 2 weeks. Give us a stretch of good weather and harvest will be done quickly. The upside of the hot dry summer. My call. Lots of Alberta farmers from other regions who can comment on their situation.

Here in west central Alberta we need heat desperately. My own crops are literally a month behind, after being basically wiped out by hail in July. Instead we are getting cold and wet, with 2 frosts already. Haven't had any large rain events lately, but consistent showers.
Actually, what I need is a miracle.

In my travels I haven't seen anything that looks as good as last year. Too many issues. Late seeding into poor conditions, too wet, then too hot and dry, significant areas hit by hail. Damaging frosts elsewhere. Now cool and wet. Still a lot of good crops, but inconsistent, and lots of poor crops.

Hey,Furrow-i'm thinkin of asking that 3min news guy to start doing some serious forecasting for us,i know, maybe he's not that good at this stuff, but maybe he is,and i'm pretty sure he would work for peanuts, unless he is to busy, finding another guy like Learner could only help us.

I truly believe him to be one of the smartest guys i have ever listen to,he has front run so many things i cant even believe it.

Maybe Learner got his weather textbooks from a discount chinese book store. Sign in front of book store says "Wong Fook Hing Book Store" forecast now looks great. Of course I will be correct just like the dead clock. At least once a day. Maybe twice.
