    Absent from Harvest....

There aren't any or VERY few crickets around here this harvest? Last few years we were kinda over run by them. I really dont miss them either especially the ones that got in the house..... Not a marketing topic but so aren't alot of other threads.

She's all over but the crying for the crops and the crickets by the end of next week if the forecast holds true.

We are not completely frost safe on our farm yet. Cereals would likely have bran frost and I hope no "frozen green kernels" and flax might be looking a little dark and some light weight stuff. They already have raised the forecast lows, lets all hope it doesn't materialize and it is only a couple of fricking cool nights. The crickets will be chirping even after the first frost lets hope we're not..... like it won't happen for a while, and when it does, no one gets hurt too badly by it.

I have mever seen the satellite looking like it does this morning. If that northern system would just stall, it would be nice. Here's hoping!

We will see what is stronger the clear dry warm front or the swirling arctic mass of clouds/rain. Less chance along east side this time, only Swift might have flurries Tuesday. Taking damp wheat...drying it.

Seems like the cool summer has slowed down a lot of insect growth.
