Another instance where the ball was dropped. Premiums or discounts should be stated at the time of contract signing.

There is so much the government could have done to make the open market transparent and accountable for all participants.

Instead they chose to make it dysfunctional.

To the detriment of many average farmers. Maybe losing the training ground for the next generation doesn't matter now, but it will.

are the prot spreads listed by 1% or .1% or .5% or how? And what do they generally range.

Are there any farmers advising the government? Man, there is just no direction -none. Not a word, not a boo. If we keep letting them get away with it, our industry will look like Mexico's, a sad state of affairs. Now the CWB may be bought out by National Farmers. I'm sure they will have the farmers' best interest at heart / or most likely the profit motive will prevail.

Grain price emails only show price for #1, 13.5 protein that I receive.
Viterra website only shows #1, 13.5 as well.
A phone call is required for premiums and deductions.

Similar to the railways, it seems more regulation is needed to keep grain buyers accountable and transparent.

Big diff. in price discounts from #2 to #3 at local plants..Same sample is a stand along #2 at Viterra and a #3 at Richardson's..Diff. is 50 cents per bushel..

Wheat trials from Sat here were interesting and showed the value of wider spreads in protien as of lately
From 11.8 to 13.6 pro in hrsw $.70/ bus - a fair chunk of change at 75 bus/ac
That spread has doubled from a week ago

This isnt looking good for some areas. Screwed pulse crops screwed cereal crops and frost problems on late oilseeds

Cotton, but is basically only the producers problem. Everyone else will get paid for what they've done or going to do. Elevation, misgrading, and blending will provide the same income sources for the terminals and freight(truck or rail) will be paid to move it. Inputs have been or will be paid for as well.

Plus Richard why would you as a farmer not shop your grain around you grew it it's yours so why not be pids fairly for it or do you just dump and hope their fair !
