Mustard: Social impact... you make a good point. If there is no revenue from it to cover the health care costs associated with the negative impacts why should my tax dollars pay for health care. I never see anyone lining up to pay their own health care costs. Personal responsibility in a socialist system is seldom present.

Pretty sure the number 1 health care cost is obesity,by a long shot.
A sugar tax comparable to alcohol and tobbacco would be fair but heh 2/3rd's of people would scream bloody murder so lets all kick the sinners together.

Ex wife just found out she had a gluten problem after two years of doctor appointments many specialists. She talked to a friend that said try going off gluten. It worked. Ok dont think this is everyones problem now but how could the doctors here have missed such a common obvious problem. I immagine the doctors and speciallists costed 50, 000 grand or more paid by tax payers. I am dissapointed in the doctors.

Take out the huge pensions to Sask booze workers and then run the numbers -that always gets swept under the rug.

Positive things that will happen if Sask converts the public system to private only sales after next election: (I predict will happen)
1) Private companies will pay income tax vs state owned enterprise paying $0
2) Eliminating the province for being on the hook for millions in pension/entitlement benefits of booze selling union workers.

You are kidding me right that crowns don't pay any tax??? Where do you think balanced budgets have come from for the last 20 years , every gov't takes money from crowns to balance the budget. And tell us how smart they are with money
