JD 9500, one wheel sunk to axle. Can I pull out backwards, without someone in the cab? I'll empty the tank first. 100 foot cable. Leave the combine shut off? In neutral? I plan on digging down some and placing a short 4x12 plank for the wheel to climb up and out on. I'm only five feet to the grass and more solid ground. Mostly wondering about the combine being shut off, or started, so as to not cause damage, nor incur resistance to rolling. Thanks

Pull it out backwards with someone pulling back on the hydro at the same time. Use the tow hook. You will have to take the chaff spreader off to get to it.you won't need the board. Pull into it slowly with the 4wd. Use the biggest tow strap you can get.

Make sure your hopper is empty. Dump it on the ground if you have too. If you try to drag it out with no one in the cab or not trying to power itself out you will have a wreck.pulling it out backwards is safer because it eliminates a strap breaking and going through the windshield plus it will come out easier. Pulled out my 9600's in 2010 constantly.
