just saying I totally disagree with fna

About buying cwb. Leave it the **** alone seriously drop it now. Farmers worst enemy may be fna.

Don't forget that Ritz gave the new cwb 5 years and then it would be sold to Private hands . It might as be farmers owning it

Hopper, what items did you buy through FNA?

      Herbicide?
Did you save the amount your annual membership was?

While I'm not a fna member and not fully up to speed on their plans, I don't disagree with what the radio adds are promoting. Are we positive there is a cwb- fna connection?

Can remember all the years that wheat board was run by government and appointed officials.
Farmers started to believe that it would act more in their best interests if only they were allowed to run it.
Elected directors did not make much difference.
Do not see farmers owning it making it much better.

Also remember the campaign by wheat board with elected directors against a new WTO agreement that threatened board powers and privilege.
In this case, board put it's own protection ahead of interests of farmers.

At one point I was under the misguided impression that I already owned the wheat board.

Me too. Which is why I spent so much time calling to see wtf was going on.

BTW I called the cwb the other day and expressed some flaws they should avoid on these new builds. Asked for condo space and at least 2 scale lanes. No probe.

The guy said he had 30 years in the grain or elevator business so basically **** off.

                Not much has changed there.

A good plant to copy to an extent would be a potash plant. They run 24 hours a day everyday. Load cars even when they are shutdown.

No elevator is utilized to its potential in western canada on the fact they are not run 24 hours a day.

Some people never change their frame of reference. Or observe the changes happening.

Truckers could get their downtime in the field. And take off whenever they wanted to unload if elevators had 24 hour operation. I would haul at midnight.

It does seem as I watch the neighborhood get bought up by one or two guys that its a race to the bottom.

Although its interesting to see the guys that are buying not too many years ago were on the ropes and survived by writedowns of 100s of thousands. Now their writedowns this time will be millions.

And it will happen and the average guy will sheepishly muddle along watching as the big boys pay big money only to pay 10 cents on the dollar.

As things go I think FNA is a pretty good group but it should not be lost that they are a private company, they are registered as a sole proprietorship.
The feds are hoping to smooth things over a bit by saying, "Look! The 'farmers' still own the CWB!"
