One thing to think about. Carefull what we ask for. Having one body do grading means we get what they say. I tend to like to sell lower grade not intentionally growing lower but sell it as higher grade than it actually is. Foreward pricing wheat works for klause at the moment. As far as weigh scale protien moisture I cannot get any discrepancy. If you feel ****ed on unload ask for sample before they toss it. They will give it to you. Take it somewhere else for verification. I have no idea how bucket can say protien varies from test to test it does not.

Watched them test the same bag at three places 12.8 to 13.4. Same 1 lb bag.

GDT, pioneer and Cargill in davidson. All within an hour.

Not unusual I have seen it before.

It is not an issue of trust in my opinion.. I will go right back to the start of knowing what you have. And I say bullshit on anyone that thinks for one minute that you can't have the same equipment and have more expertise in your own farm business than what my current delivery points have in some city kids grading grain based on a few days of courses. I don't want anymore than what I have coming to me but am tired of accepting less. I would like to move to a system of SGS samples and graded bin lots in the near future.. Certified to spec sealed lots. No different than what the grain companies currently do with their own customers.

All I am saying is the delivery points are going to pay you what it unloads in their facility and what their testers say.

There may be negotiation after but that's the politics of grain.

Buckets right. Your machine, if you have one doesn't matter. The buyers' tests would matter.

Bucket is correct the unload sample is what is tested. You cannot carry your 50, 000 dollar precision tool around and expect it to work. I dissagree with you jd. I tend to sell above my grade. If your worried because you pre harvest sell then that is your choice. Dont drag everyone along with you.

Forgot to mention jd your working toward a system that will be corrupt. I take it your going to be on some sort of board to oversee how others are graded and yours durum however ****ed will be 14dollar durum. I dont want it.

For protein I would make one suggestion.
Get a sample, have elevator clean it (properly) then divide the clean sample into two using their borner divider, send one to SGS or CGC get accurate protein test. Now you know they protein of your sample, as it will be exactly the same as the one sent in.

Then everytime you haul check their machine with your check sample, that will tell you if they are reading accurately.

If they are off you can request CGC subject to! Remember that machines are accurate to within ( or -) .2%

Pro should not change with time, My sample is the same as it was 5 years ago checked regularly on my protein machine against CGC certified check samples.

You wouldn't know good durum from a mix of shit and apples hopper.. And no I don't think I will be sitting on any boards and governing what I get. that's not the point. Your durum comment hopper would be like myself commenting on your wheat that I know nothing about. Right now there is a 5.00 a bushel difference between Canadian offers and US offers on the durum I will be selling. You damn right I want to know what I have. The 20,000 investment in equipment is peanuts in the overall picture.

Ok afer giving samples to 5 locations and watching them pick out shit jd what the hell isthere to learn? Just ****ing learned it. So get some more education. Go to school for rest of your ****ing life.
