Not sure what you guys are asking for over and above what the CGC collects today on the space/volume side. I don't think CGC collects data on quality on deliveries which I guess they could. Statistics Canada isn't involved in collecting this data. If you are suggesting more information from farmers, are you suggesting you would be willing to provide quality information in the Statistics Canada surveies. Many of you dislike the current survey so I not sure you would be happy adding more complexity. Provincial surveys including ARD's have way of surveying for quality profile.

Pretty simple charliep statscan surveys farmers. Phone the elevator and ask them what they have in store.
Same questions. Then correlate that to what they sell it off the coast for.
Right now most elevator price if mpls Dec futures but forget to make the fx conversion. That is a 75 cent a bushel hit. Not to mention the buying it as a feed and magically gets exported as a number 1 cwrs.
No one is monitoring the spreads.
And I doubt the minister of ag has the intelligence to understand any of it.

I guess I'm suggesting volume information is being collected already by CGC and reported in the Grain Statistic Weekly on an aggregated basis by province. I don't know what value an occassion Statistics survey would do. I guess you could put more requirements on keeping track of quality at various stages in the transportation and storage system.

Terminal receipts and stocks are listed by grade in the Grain Statistics weekly.
No primary elevator grades though.
The most recent report ending Sept 28 shows the vast majority of HRSW stocks are #1,2.
Durum most in the top three grades.
It will be very interesting to see what happens as new crop hits the terminals.

Stormin their was a real shortage of Corn in the USA a few years back yet USDA took grain from two years out that might be grown and added it to supplies to make it look like their was enough grain to go around. Then the USA gov had to cut support for ethanol because they actually would run out of Corn. If in reality the system worked and the USA did run out of corn. Our barley wheat oats all would have doubled in Canada but it didn't . Why because USDA changed numbers for their own protection. This thing that the market knows is Bull shit. Its manipulated to the full extent.

The only thing that made the numbers work in the states was early harvests and refilling the pipeline.
This late harvest in the states will reset their calculations. Or at least they should.
Same thing is happening here.
Weber has space at 60 percent. Where did that big crop go?????
