    dave4441.

The contract didn't read off the combine. It was for the august september time frame, I apologise I used the term incorrectly.

I just knew I would be harvesting at that time so I used the term off the combine to represent the september delivery.

But I made those facts known to the rep when I signed the contract.

A grain companies trident to make money is:

      1: elevation
      2: purposely misgrading
      3: blending

It's #2 I have trouble with. Buy my grain for what it is and the other guys for what it is but if you're going to steal from me that is where I have an issue. Blending is fine with me if everyone gets what is duly theirs!!!! Elevation is expected.

Dave, I am not going to get into a long drawn out debate with you, but if you think there isn't underhanded things happening in the grain marketing world....! I haven't seen you post here in a while but if you've been following the things that I've said happened to me, they're true. What do I have to gain by slamming the people who buy my grain, in fact I have more to lose. The fact is shit is happening and Producers need to be aware and not take it. If I wanted to give my ****ing labour away I would have become a Missionary....

There's been some strong accusations on this website, don't take anything said personally but it provides allot of food for thought for EVERYONE in the chain.

The biggest theft going on is this.

Graincos use MPLS dec contract at 5.40 usd for price. Then they say their basis is 0.

Somehow my canadian net price is still 5.40 cdn.

Where the **** did the exchange rate go??

We are not paid in US dollars.

        Its theft plain and simple.

And its not a zero basis. 5.43usd converts today to 6.09cdn. Its a minus .65 per bushel basis.

        Call it as such.

If the company called the grain Aug 1 could you have delivered it? I doubt it but you have an understanding with the company that you can not deliver grain until you harvest said grain. It also gives them a messed up window to deliver the grain and plan their logistics. And your contract isn't the only contract they have.

Re grades all I am is preaching is have a independent third party complete your samples the day you finish harvesting that crop. Get in your vehicle and drive the samples to Saskatoon. Does a good employee try to push things towards his company when he can. Likely, but same happens when they have to give it all away in basis and grading. You simply chose to work in this environment and have to figure out how to work to your advantage.

And, underhanded things are done by growers as well. Doesn't mean each farm is trying to screw the grain companies either. That is just life!

I wrote something else but I could have delivered on August 1st.

The grain was in the bin as I could have delivered 2013 grain against it. That was why I signed the contract I did.

Welcome back Dave! Glad the protector of industry has returned to enlighten us all! It's good to have both sides!
Talk to most farmers and see how many agree with you that industry is their for farmers best interests! Yes they want us successful and continue to drink the coolaide!
Have a great Saturday! I'm drying out land for next year!

You're right Dave. But I like to be upfront with my Buyers. Good representitive samples, no sample doctoring. Makes for a better long term relationship and builds trust when they deal with me. **** them once and they will always be watching and suspicious, a reputation I don't want or need. Sometimes I think people's easy going nature and trustworthiness/naivety make them targets.

Some punk takes a grading course and they are an expert, but a farmers 20 or more experience looking at grain to set the combine or see when a field is ready by rubbing out heads means nothing.

The ****ing taste of the grain can tell you more than some of the tests they run.
