CPs rate moose jaw to Vancouver is around 37 a tonne. Elevation and other charges 20 a tonne.

57 off port price would seem reasonable.
So 360 minus 57 equals 303 or 8.25 bucks a bushel cdn mid point saskatchewan.

    Give or take.mostly take.

So the **** with transparency and making the system better.

Guys like you and statements like that make you part of the problem.

      Not the solution.

Hermanson and others have had 17 years to avoid what happened last year. Guess what it will happen again.

And farmers will pay the bill. You won't. You like the system as it is.
Manipulated and an old boys club.

Did anyone read my recommendation on marketing wheat? What I thought I said is high quality/protein wheat is a crop I would bin. I would sell other crops this fall.

So why the mantra about the market always being right.

Now you are saying basis isn't a delivery indicator. It's part of the market.

And you don't worry about pricing in mpls and Vancouver - it's not relevant either.

It's only the price you receive . Well those prices are ****ed.

Farmers don't know if it's a high quality crop until it's through the combine.

Many people have had number 1 durum crops hit the bin as a 5.

            Changes everything.

You make things personal so I respond in personal way. On my day off. Don't why I am doing this other than admitting to sickness/addiction.

Looking forward to retirement. Will I give up the fights from my past and enjoy or will I still have to be in the game. Game isn't all that fun.

My challenge this days is identifying and mentoring new agricultural economists. Helping them develop the skills and attitude they need to provide value to the industry. Many don't have farm backgrounds or understand the working of the industry. I hope I prepare them properly before someone like completely de-motivates them.

Having said, maybe the best thing that can happen is that we both of retire. The next generation will have a new approach and something we both lack, ethusiasm for a valuable and exciting career/business.

If you are training the industry, the young farmers are in a shit load of trouble.

                Read what you have written.

You are happier to hide the basis calculation than promote something more transparent for the whole industry including farmers.

                please don't mentor anyone.

Go on another canoe ride and pass your transparency test.

Charlie it's a tough job to be on here, yes we have pissing matches a lot! It's what makes life fun! But yesterday you asked about banks! Then today you talk about enthusiasm of our young!
Great way for the young to lose that is banks calling loans for no reason takes that away real fast! The last 8 some have done very well and enjoyed! But the next 5 years will tell how enthused they stay or leave the industry!
Also your training ag economists who have no farm background!
                  God help us all!
I was once back in 1979 to 81 really enthusiastic like today's begining farmers! Time kind of takes that away! Ah farming!

Maybe John Depape , Brenda Lepp, or Vp CWWGA Rolf Penner, shed a little light on this topic.

SF3. You beat me to it, God help us all!!!! Major disconnect, no empathy or sympathy for the most important part of the chian. Grain Cos training non-farm backgound students as Marketing Reps and Graders who are book smart but practically stupid. Just what they want. I could never "be on the otherside" after 30 plus years on this side, conscience wouldn't allow it.

They are lurking without a doubt for entertainment purposes.

Zero basis and arbritrage are interesting terms.

Foreign exchange is an interesting term with a 88 cent cdn dollar.

Same problems as when the cwb was in place.

Coast prices double that of the prairie price.
