So Farm Link has the Harvest at all most done!

Overall we are estimating Western Canadian harvest at 75% complete. Sunflowers, corn, and canaryseed have yet to be started, but will begin middle of the month. Some producers have just started into flax, and early yield reports are good.

Ok this is where I have issues because I saw rain on Alberta's radar and Sask and Manitoba last week. I don't think it was just our area that was shut down for a week.

Good weather through last week provided an opportunity for growers to make harvest progress after a couple of weeks of wet conditions. Over the weekend scattered showers halted operations in some areas, while others moved through with little interruption. Showers are expected throughout the provinces this week, and are expected to carry on through this coming weekend.
So my question for today where are we at in harvest 2014 because I thinks some one is blowing smoke up the markets ass.
In east Sask I would say most are at 50% completed and SW is done but really did any one turn a wheel in the last 7 days.
I tried yesterday Canola was 14.9 and Wheat over 20 so really not harvest weather. Today the forecast is for rain tonight and tomorrow.
So again at what stage of harvest are most at and your area.

Doesn't FarmLink have representatives all across the farming zone? They might have a more accurate read than Statscan.

My question is if it rained on Tuesday wed then again on weekend ah Im no expert but grain needs sun heat and wind to dry to be able to get it through the combine. Ah wind yes we had moisture is bad. Ah again I must have missed some thing. It wasn't a great week for harvest.

Their subscribers in our area should have told them no harvest happened since last Monday night.

Ill add to this thread. How much did each guy harvest since last Monday night. Tried Canola 14.9 yesterday. HRS is 20 plus and Oats standing 18.9.
So basically nothing for a week was harvested in our area. Others please tell me what was harvested since last Monday night to today!

nothing since monday ! i took a fairly long drive west (700 km) on wed after 1.5 " inch rain here. lots of crop out ,wheat ,oats , flax, and lots and lots of green frozen swathed canola (no doubt included in stats can canola crop) i came back sat. , never saw a combine running but was suprised at amount of crop still out .

Would be nice to see running result totals of CGC's harvest sample program for quality and factors.
I'm sure they go into computer system daily and could be sent out on their web site at least.
Quality is maybe the biggest tool this year.

Maybe these reports are from dj's at radio stations. Gotta laugh at those people too. Get an inch of rain, next day is sunny, and what do they say, "Great day for the farmers, as they will be back in the field again today." DAH

Maybe it counts as "combines rolling" when farmers are testing out the combine on 15% canola and 20% wheat.

Maybe just don't start the combine when the results will be somewhat obvious.

One day doing canola around here and a bit of tough wheat by those who have lots left. I would guess the area at 80 plus.

reset the clock another 3 days.
nothing done in the last week here.
                              forecast rain for Tuesday.
sure glad only have 400 left not 4000
