    Friday Crop Report!

Well it was a good week of harvest activity in our area. Sat morning was slowed down due to a little shower but only for a few hours. All that being said late last night the shit returned and we are wet this morning.
Some days you feel like your the last guy harvesting in Canada. Our area has a same pattern of rain it either builds in Edmonton and we get it or Montana low crosses the valley and we get it.
The area average around us is 80% done. Most would have been done by Sunday. But a small low pressure showed up and were wet. Were at 27% left late last night. Just Canola and Oats and Soy!
    Crop report.
Wheat yields are Great where the crop didn't flood. Where it flooded its 0. So 66 to zero and you have a average wheat crop. Grades are a three at low end to a two at high. Protein is high.
Fuz is their but on fields not worked. Fields burnt and black limited amounts.
Oats is being harvested and lots are disappointed in yields. 60 and lower is awful for oats. Lots of yields like that out their. Light.
Barley Early is great late is piss poor.
Canola is one crop that is easy to harvest once the crop rots. Well after all the rains canola when it can go guys catch up real fast harvesting. Yields are all over the map.
Flax their is lots of disappointment to few that are really excited. Not sure but flax is no where near last years crop.
Soy has seed and it seems the early pioneer 1's have bigger seeds and matured faster but yield will be down. Pioneer 2S are going to do real nice considering the year. DeKalb's are also going to do ok.
So as the 2014 harvest nears the finish line, neighbours are bunching up to help guys. Dryers have paid huge dividends again.
Tillage is happening everywhere, especially on farms that saw last years results.
Its just a crop that's worth nothing so why get hurt pushing to get it in the bin. Be safe.

"Its just a crop that's worth nothing"... is a kind of an unthankful spirit... SF3!

We are blessed with every bu we have in the bin... and all that has been delivered and sold this fall!

Just 110ac of flax left to combine... we are very thankful for all the many hours of hard work family and friends/workers on our farm invested to make 2014 a wonderful year!

God Bless Canada! We need to thankful for everything we enjoy in our wonderful Country!!!

We truly do live in the best country in the world!

What is unthankful is the people that leech off our farms. Graincos railways chemical etc.

FFS, Tom we get you have rose colored glasses on but take them off once in awhile.

You know things were pretty bad back when the CWB was in place, the theft is worse now.

Remember what vader wrote? Well someone is distributing wealth again and in far greater amounts than before.

Funny you don't have the same energy to point out the theft like before.

....denial and justification. I try to look for silver linings but sometimes they can be hard to find. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is smaller this year than others.....

Our crop yielded well cosidering the overabundance of rain, but the Fusarium is what gets me. I am used to weather events. The bins are full, but the rewards are uncertain.

We are the governments's toys. Because we allow them to give away our rights and don't band together and fight, we are controlled by a rail monopoly, now breeder's rights. What about my right to ownership.

Grain companies destroyed the elevators to design "efficiencies" to our disadvantage and
where were the governments? Don't hear a boo about a grand plan to make the new system work for farmers.? Because there is none. Tom, you can defend and pontificate, but the reality is ominous.

Tom I get your religious part of your reply! Yes let's talk religion! Trust me after 8 years you start to ask a lot of questions! You wonder why God is hitting you with this unbelievable rains! You give thanks for the crop you get, even if agsin it's subpar thanks to to much rain! But enough on God he has a plan it will unfold and you have no control!
But like bucket says why not realize that the grain companies in canada are screwing farmers so bad it's become worse than when we had the CWB! Don't get me wrong IT was awful!
              It is a crop report!
The be safe don't worry about this crop that you put your self in danger is my point! It's worthless your life isn't! If you did take your rose colored glasses and realize mud is not fun to work in! One year or 8.

Tom is like one of those paid political announcements sound so nice but reality is reality. we know the conservatives are in and you want everyone to feel good about it, however less and less do. the alternative is the shits so too bad but it is what it is. You can t with a straight face stand and say we are not getting fkd over by every interest group there is in ag and gov is not any help either.

Careful saskfarmer3 God in keeping you on this planet for a good reason I am sure of that. Maybe your complaining is making the rest of us a bit more thankful for what we have. See you have a purpose on the planet, keep on complaining.

The only reason we are here is to let God and the devil decide who takes us.

And as long as they are arguing over me, I am ok with that.

                        - bucket Oct 2014.

                        Pretty profound. Combine thinking.

And much like when I was playing sports it probably goes - you take him, no you take him.

I am still good with that. LOL

                          ****ing rain.

I think the only reason I'm still here is because I'm too good for Hell and too bad for Heaven. I have to put in some more time to figure out which way I'm going........

                            Talk about a derailed thread.

Just think how disappointed some will be when the lights go out and there's no other light to go towards.
