AgriTrade Show in Red Deer - November 5,6,7. Does anyone want to talk/share thoughts about Agrivill

We are planning to attend the Agri Trade show this year and wondered if there are many Agriville members planning to attend?

If you are interested in meeting, I would love to ask you some questions on how we can improve the Agriville site.

We are planning to update the Agriville software but I have been nervous about changes - in the past we have lost up to 80% of our visitors when we upgraded and improved some of our other sites....one step forward and 10 steps back...I have learned some interesting (failures) lessons.

The visitor traffic continues to increase on Agriville even with its limited software functionality...up over 22% this year over last and over 60,000 user session from over 12,000 unique visitors. The community sharing has become very important and I want to make sure we improve it not decrease it.

95% of the visitors are from Canada, the majority from SK, AB and MB but there are a number of visitors from the USA, Australia, England and others...

I would also like to know how we can increase some of the other forum topic areas like machinery and crops...

Unfortunately, Agriville.com/Farms.com will not have a booth at the AgriTrade show (it has a waiting list...) but I plan to be there for a few days and would love to meet everyone.

As always, if you have ideas, feedback or just want to chat please email, call or maybe we can meet in Red Deer or at a future farm shows.

    Thanks,

    Joe Dales

Don't compartmentalize the forums too much. I hate having to click back and forth through a bunch of different sections to see the latest posts in each one.
"Active Topics" is the first place I stop over on the Combine forum. It shows the last 50 of so posts on the site from all sections of the forum.

Good points....I agree that your eye can scroll through a lot of content to find topics you are interested in.

      Thanks for sharing.

Make the forum homepage a list of last 100 topics posted in... from all boards.

I may be there... would love to chat.

Presently I never go to the homepage but straight here and only here.

I would like the order reversed with the most recent posts at the top. Would that be possible. In my experience, when a site gets changed too much, it is wrecked as in the American airline out of Minot. The site was easy to navigate, after revamp, we don't bother going there, no matter how cheap the flights. I think best you just leave it as is. Simple and easy!

Make it easier for all of us especially klause to post shitty pictures of his crops. Still cant edit/delete a post and this is 2014. Please put these requests on my Christmas wish list. No I will not be in Red Deer. Like Terry Clarke... "I've got better things to do"

Re edit or delete. I guess if we posted something we wished we didn't or would like to change the context of what we said, just use another post to apologize or restate your case. Deleting wouldn't make anyone accountable for their actions and threads could become hard to make sense of (that may even be the case now) or follow. Editing for spelling, well, its usually not that bad that sense can't be made of it.

Bringing treads to the top of the list that have new posts to them would be nice.

That's not the point.. Being able to edit a post that has become jibber or polluted with SF3 type spelling errors due to bouncing down the field would be kind of nice don't ya think??

-I like the idea of edit/delete.
-Active posts to the top in order of activity. (From all categories)
-combine forum seems to be set up well.

Great input everyone, thanks and I look forward to anyone who can visit with us in Red Deer at AgriTrade.

Just send me a direct email and I will follow up.

Klause, give me a call sometime if you don't make it to Red Deer, it would be great to hear how you are doing.

                        Thanks again,

I will be at the Ropin the Web booth, ARD on Wednesday, November 5 and doing the tour around the show that afternoon. Hope to see some of you there.
