Well last week we were shut down on Thursday night last week. It was a quarter inch, but when your ground is mud and humidity is high drying is real hard. Finally got going on Sunday but we were using the dryer. Then went hard till late last night. Were down to 11 quarters to go. Canola and oats and soy. Most smaller guys in our area are just wrapping up. Lots of flax and oats out.
But last night the rain came back.
Really getting tired of this shit. You do everything in your ability to have a normal harvest yet mother nature throws a curve ball every single day. Late starts because roads are wet in morning and crop takes on moisture at night.
Tough to be the last area of the prairies still harvesting.
This is year 8 and lots of lost years are taking their toll on most farms in our area. Dreams of crops in 2015 are not even on the radar. Eight years of mud I give up our good luck and pass it on to any one who wants it. Its yours take it. Drought please come back. Please.
