Bombing ISIS with air attacks is like taking a rifle and shooting in the bush blindly because you know there a deer in there.

There are so many past failed missions by the West in the Middle East, which have only created bigger problems. Both Sr and Jr Bush'S were simply warring in the Middle East over oil and nothing else. If posters on here think it was over democracy or the poor Iraq women and children your have blinders on.

But let's not forget when Harper was in opposition he made a huge issue as to why we weren't sending our troops with George W Bush into Iraq. How many Canadians soldiers would have lost their lives for nothing. So now Canada involved fighting ISIS of which many are Sunni's. Just what, NOW we're involved. The only way ISIS can be defeated is by neighboring countries such as Turkey and Iran. The West can not win this war for them.

We have already lost two brave soldiers in our own country, which is truly a sad week here in Canada. Will this war bring on more Canadian deaths, I pray hard it won't.

I am proud to be Canadian. I am surprised that some on here think sending 6 planes to help root out idiots who are indiscriminately killing thousands is somehow an "oil war".

Sounds like something Lizzy May, or the NDP would say.

Canada has historically never held back when others need our help. Why would we start now? Even the Dutch, the belgium folk: they are as left wig as they come. Yet they are behind the fight against the radicals.

The problem is clear. Muslim fundamentalist idiots. This shouldn't be a surprise: As these idiots permeate society around the world, this will only get worse. They breed like rats, and slip into our society, recruiting as they go.

Sheesh, this is not about oil. I mean, really, have we not been in tune with the news until yesterday?

Rest in peace, both soldiers. One of whom had a young son, who will not have a daddy to raise him.

Twisting this into a blame game for us going over to defend the defenseless is frankly sad. That is Justin Trudeau speak. Stop it.

        Hello freewheat.

If it isn't about oil then why hasn't canada went into every other area of the world that has the same or similar atrocities?

Like what, Germany? Afghanistan? Holland? Korea? I agree there are many places we sure should have gone into. Like many areas of Africa. And there are areas we should stay the heck out.

We have oil. We do not need Iraqi oil. And we are not attacking a country over there, we are attempting to stop the rounding up, raping, pillaging, and killing, of innocents.

To say Canada sent 6 planes to attempt to bomb terrorist muslims for oil is amazing, IMO.

Not about oil. You must be kidding. Why did both Bush's go into Iraq. You really think they were concerned about democracy. Where are all those WMD's George W claimed Hussein was going to bomb the world with.

Just who do you think makes up ISIS. Sunni that's what Hussein was.

Freewheat,I get you don't like Justin but maybe stay with the facts.

For the most part I agree with you. But this is a place canada does not need to be.

If your idea is to cut out the cancer. Good luck.

Canada should go where there is a better outcome.

The middle east is one ****ed up area.

I say let's put them on a wheat diet. Fatten them up slow them down and keep the wasted trillions at home where the results are definitely more productive.

I believe the reason we sent planes and people is to show support for our good friend America. America has faults, lots of them, but they also police the world.
They are without a doubt the most powerful military in the world. I think it a good idea to keep them on our side. Sometimes you have to back a friend even if you think their actions are unwise.
At the same time, I was very happy we stayed out of the Iraq thing. There were no weapons of mass destruction, it was Bush's personal vendetta.

I didn't know we were talking about the Bushes still. I thought we were talking about Canada? No? We sent planes because there is a strong world wide backing. In other areas there has not been.

I dunno, I am good to agree to disagree.

I just do not think we in Canada somehow are after oil. Worse, I do not think we somehow deserve this. Is that what this is? Because we sent planes to Iraq to help out, we get attacked from MUSLIMS from within?

Do we deserve these attacks because we have sent help for folks surrounded on a mountaintop and systemically slaughtered?

It is about Islam, not oil. We got a lot of oil. America has a lot of oil.

I think some are downplaying the seriousness of the Islamic factor here. It is a very serious deal. Is it not obvious?

All I'm trying to point out is this is the bad hangover from George W Bush's action.

The question everybody should be asking if Saddam wasn't taken out, WOULD this be happening??? So it is very important to talk about the Bush's.

For me, as long as there is Islamic fundamentalism, (nazism, fascism, fill in the blank here), the slaughter of innocents will go on, Hussein or no Hussein, Hitler or no Hitler. Mussolini, or no Mussolini.

Standing idly by while idiots kill innocents is IMO cowardly and inhumane.

I guess if it were about oil, lets just say Iran has more than Iraq. Why do we not go there? Or Venezueala, the motherload of oil. We should send troops there to secure oil for the americans, seeing as this is about "oil".

I wonder how the parents of the brave American soldiers who died in Iraq would answer your question about going after Hussein?? Or all the others who came back who are suffering physically and mentally. All for what????

You act as though they were FORCED to join the army. They were not. I presume that some had reservations when going over. I would presume many were stoic and strong, and felt they had a cause to fight for. I would presume most of their parents are EXTREMELY proud of their boys and girls.

I am not certain what this all has to do with the shooting on the hill, ISIS, and sending a measly 6 military jets to help out??

                            We are not sending troops.

My comment was not threatening, it was a reflection on the circumstance. I have no intentions to do anything wild. I am at home pulling dirt growing grain for human consumption nothing more. I do appreciate the advice though. I never considered how much trouble it could create for myself.
I do sympathize with the soldies' families. I have the upmost respect for Canadian soldiers. I guess that message did not come through in my original post.
