I know I said it was the Last but I honestly thought we would finish!

Ok it looks like a window might open to get the last 200 of oats off by Sunday morning.
This will be tough oats and flax and canola in our area but if the wind does what they say it will and we miss todays morning snow shower, maybe.
    Here is the week.
Most farmers did get so close to finishing in our area it was remarkable.
But their still is thousands of acres out.
Most are like us 200 to 480 acres made up of flax, oats, and wheat.
Fall work was going strong till Sunday afternoon the rain then snow hit. Snowed Monday and Tuesday then cleared noon yesterday and all is gone. Its funny how the same area that has had shit weather all year continues.
Fall flax burning or any burning ended on Sunday. We have been going strong with the field work and should get to 40% worked before freeze up. This is not where I wanted to be but with what we have been dealt for weather Ill take it. All did get a glyphos opp so its clean.
Here is one thing that has been pissing me off all fall. Why do the experts keep talking about back to back bumper crops and carryover is high on farms so price has to stay low.
AH not one guy I know in our area had any carry over it was all sold.
So again was the size of last years crop a complete bull shit story.
If you have excess grain carry over let us know because it seems some thing never happened in farming last year.
Be safe its just a crop.
And like the Harley Davidson Commercial says from Regina give mother nature the finger. Hell the whole fist is what she needs.
    Get ER Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they can bullshit us all they want , most of us learned our lesson last winter . there is very little carryover in the northeast. we carried a small amount of wheat over but almost everyone i talked to has no carryover. i called statscan to ask WTF? they are telling me there is huge amounts of grain in farmers bins and country elevators and no-one is holding anyone accountable ? none of these elevators carry grain over ,all they do is bring it in before cars come . farmers should not drop this issue , someone should have to explain the carryover and huge crop that never was ?? anyways they have lost control ,on this crop bullshit story, its obvious , lock your bins and make em pay

SK3, good luck to you and your neighbours on the last bit.

I agree on the carryover. No one here had carryover except for one large farmer who just never adapted to marketing wheat in the post CWB era. Everyone else had swept their bins clean. Elevators started the harvest season empty.

I can't control Statscan but, we will keep our bins locked up until prices get better yet. We can control that.

We haven't put our yields through the math yet to find our cost per bushel. With these rallies we better get at it.

On the crop report side, our cows and calves are STILL harvesting re grown ryegrass. It's been great for extending the grazing season. It also works as a cover crop sucking up any excess moisture while keeping ground cover.

At least your snow melted. Ours has not, and may well not.

Not much left, maybe an inch. The soil seems to be melting it from below, cuz I am sure the air is not. Since the snow on Monday, it has not been above freezing.

Is there room in your MF, Klause? If it was the beast you used to have, I know there was dang near a couch in that orange monster!!!

Still a bit of grain corn coming off in S AB. Everything else done. Do know people with carry over 13 grain so not all of it moved last year.

in one case 12000 bu of durum with ergot and in another 25000 bu of winter wheat. Know of another with some soft wheat which was hard to get a price for last year that carried over. Do agree that Stat Cans estimate last year was overstated but I think their estimate this year is a little low. There is a lot of feed grain that will sit out in the country this year.
