    Grain Movement Order

As end of November approaches, waiting to see if it is extended.
Do not think it will make much difference this winter as RRs have to plan for engines and crew months in advance.
Severity of winter and demand at ports likely more important.
One thing it might do is cause extra movement to ports at expense of domestic and USA demand.
Interesting that Western Grain Elevator Association reportedly supports extension of the shipping order.

Remember that ritz's advisory committee, the wcwga, support shitcanning the order.

There is no real vision in Ottawa.

I wrote my MP a letter with questions about the lack of transparency in the grain industry and ended up answering more questions than I started with.

Ottawa and the policy advisors either know nothing or have different agendas that no longer represent my interest.

When they rescind the order the least they could do is put in respectable targets for winter months.

Not a big deal whether shipping order gets extended or not.
More important to consider what is best to avoid last year's problems in future.

Holy ****. This happened in 1997 and hermanson is on record complaining about it. There has been nothing done since then and nothing done this year.

Telling the railways to work in nice weather isn't a solution.

No fines, no level of service agreements. No nothing.

The railways and graincos got the green light to do exactly the same thing as last year.

And is being applauded by the incompetence in Ottawa.

Would be one step closer to command economy loved by central planners and bureaucrats.
Next step could be governments telling farmers what and how much to grow.
Has not worked out very well for countries that tried it.
