stonpicker, what was your grade and protein? I know it was pretty easy to sell 1HRS with protein in excess of 14% for at least $7.40 per bushel earlier this fall. US buyers were paying waaaaay more than this. Not on the Canadian side though. Thank god for US elevators.

sk 3, i agree 6.70 is nothing great, lots of farmers did way better, i didnt pre-price early enough ( gun shy from having to buy out my contacts from 2011 crop ) but the way you were talking last winter made it sound like last years prices were below poverty level, there were pricing oppurtunities even in late 2013. On the average, i call bullshit on grain moving as slow as you say it did, most farmers moved theirs in relatively good time, do you forget the chronic slow wheat movement during the cwb era? One point i'm trying to make sk 3, is that obviously you've done well for yourself over the years but you never seem to have anything positive to say or any recomendations on how to fix them. All my wht. was no. 2, protein varied

I have certain key players that I deal with different grain companies and I have a good working relationship.
But sorry chap grain in east sask was sacrificed for the rest. We had contracts outstanding for months. You get really gun shy.
So yes I maybe wasn't put on this earth to Bull shit people that farming is so easy. Its not and all the money experts advise and luck still mother nature can F$%K up GOOD CROP, And their goes all your plans. Yes the last 8 years have made me more pissed but you adapt to your situation. I wonder how many out their who tell how good things are actually could survive 8 years of shit weather and still be positive.
We will get our day but even then I wouldn't rub salt in fellow farmers wounds.

Now the thread was on Wheat.
How will the Russia shit show with Ukraine effect wheat. Hell he has war ships around Australia. Is china his new finance arm with all deals he is making.
Why is grain still priced lower on the Canadian side than the USA. Its because 80% or farmers in Canada are Price takers, You aren't but most go in they tell them its feed, they seem pissed but start delivering the next morning.
But wheat good quality this year should move and you should be paid for it.
