Start in Farming

Here is an example/ rant . There is a younger couple about 8 years younger than me, they lived and worked in the city. They sold the city house for a house in small town. Knowing they were going bankrupt, they went shopping hard and racked up all the balances on all their cards. Then bankrupt.
Now they do things smarter. They have 3 vehicles less than 6 years old, a house full of stuff. They each provide valuable services in the small town but accept payment in cash only.
So, why take on a massive financial hurdle, investment like a farm when you can live just fine without all the responsibility?

hobby...a person can frame multiple scenarios or opinions about the state of affairs. I agree with you its simply too easy not to farm, to farm the farmer and/do anything else but farm.
I think that page of history may be turning, but even if its not, I'm willing to bet there are few who want to give it an honest try, but haven't got a clue where to start, or feel its impossible on both sides.
Everybody wants/sees something different. Just saying there should be a means of linking common interests. Might be surprised at what shakes out.

A farmer in this area put up one of those portable signs at the end of his lane advertising, "next generation looking for land".

The reverse might work as well.
