Nothing scientific about my survey but just driving around SK there seems to be a LOT of really shiny inventory sitting on dealer lots. As Yoda says "Hard to predict is the future" but it could be a really smart move to turn some of that inventory into cash now rather than later.

JD does more business with the big 'progressive" operators(read:highly leveraged) with multiple unit deals and leasing. More of these units get rolled over so more late model trades. It work well on the way up but will be a double edged sword on the way down.

When you hear about some of the nightmares the machinery flipping BTOs have with their "seasonal" help, its a bit of a gamble buying their "ab-used" equipment. Buy accordingly, allow some room for the some big bills, parts and labour are pricy.

No wonder so many John Deere feature in Ritchie dispersals. Had to replace a worn out ram on a grapple fork recently - the replacement JD ram was $845 the generic ram of the same size was $118 (from a hydraulic company not Princess Auto)
Expensive stuff this green paint.
