JD does more business with the big 'progressive" operators(read:highly leveraged) with multiple unit deals and leasing. More of these units get rolled over so more late model trades. It work well on the way up but will be a double edged sword on the way down.

When you hear about some of the nightmares the machinery flipping BTOs have with their "seasonal" help, its a bit of a gamble buying their "ab-used" equipment. Buy accordingly, allow some room for the some big bills, parts and labour are pricy.

How much of that stuff wasn't serviced properly? A lot of it is coming from guys with hired help who just jump on and to hell with it. After all, it isn't his own and will be going back to the dealer anyway.

No wonder so many John Deere feature in Ritchie dispersals. Had to replace a worn out ram on a grapple fork recently - the replacement JD ram was $845 the generic ram of the same size was $118 (from a hydraulic company not Princess Auto)
                  Expensive stuff this green paint.
