The equipment market has changed, adapt.
It started to transform when the Canadian buck was a premium to the USA standard. Canadian could finally get deal ( better than they were used to) and import used everything.
Dealers started to offer the "auction book value " for trades. This is when RB and other auctions started to flourish. At the same time - in general - the ag economy was booming.
The Canadian buck is now discounted to the USA , ag business farming, equipment, etc, must focus on cash flow.
The dealer consolidation will continue, auctions will continue, until technology allows equipment to operate on its own ( autonomous tractors, un manned sprayers that are 4 feet wide spraying at night etc, etc)
Do what you have to today, for short or medium term needs, long term it's going to be much different. Remember when you actually steered the tractor- all day every day, or didn't have a cell phone?
