CBC is just preaching to the choir!!! Their followers are mostly Lefties that rub their hands together and sqeal with excitement when they read crap like that. Nice to blame all those problems on the lack of CWB but they would have been worse if the CWB was still going. That crowd would just love to see farmers in dire straights. Sure the Gov ag is not quite what it should be but luckily they don't have thier hands in our pockets. Industry will adjust to our problems it always does.

Its a terrible thing when we haul grain to where we want and then get paid for it right away. One year without perfect grades and the crying starts. Try growing #1 durum for year after year in the past and having it pooled with the poor grade crap from the areas where it actually rains. Get on the phone and market there's lot of marketers to help you and let the commie wheat board die

1961 produced a decent crop because it was a one year event. The problem is when there are multiple years with the same problem, either too wet or too dry. If 1937 would have been a one year event, it wouldn't have been the disaster it was. Having been preceeded by many hot dry years, it was the worst year in agriculture. Sadly, there is not much we can do except prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Saskfarmer the fert thing is easy - order 50 to 70% of what you normally put on then top dress or foliar apply the rest as needed or not at all if your crop gets flooded or drought end out . It has worked for us for many years . Your crop does not need 100 % of it's nutrient requirements at seeding . There are other options that work as well or far better in some cases to loadin er up at seeding "time"

Not my posts. I am only here trying to be more politically correct.
Really as long as the politicians keep us fighting like cats and dogs they and everyone else win.
Carry on. But really it's the true wealth creation in farming that they want but can't have.
Who else can put 5 pounds in the ground and turn it into 2000?
Or 90 lbs and turn it into 3600.
And have the skills to do it. Argue amongst yourselves but use your heads whether your left right or center you are a farmer first.
It's about time we get on the same page.

And how exactly am I to help you with that farmaholic.?
As most politicians as saying today the money just isn't there.
Even though the rocket science oil men have their production hedged at a profit for years to come. I thought it was only farmers that would start whining when bad prices hit??
