I agree with you on that one blackpowder. Subsidizing hockey moms to drive their kids to hockey tournaments all over the country in SUVs using farm fuel. Total abuse of the system.
Prentice ruled out a sales tax yesterday I believe.

Wow, Alberta's personal rate is cheaper than Sask's corporate rate.
Does that mean there are few corporate(private) farms in Alberta. Am I missing something?

I phoned the Sask gov't farm fuel tax exemption guys a couple years ago and gave him a real good listing to.
He informed me in a very stern manor that they were looking at removing the tax exemption for farm fuel. His reason was that farmers are wrecking the roads hauling grain with semi's and heavy/oversize farm equipment on public roads.
Just watch the highways and see how many grain trucks there are and how many are farm plated. That is a lot of revenue for gov'ts and lost revenue for custom truckers who complain about it being unfair.
My bet is farm plates and farm fuel tax exemption will be gone everywhere and don't be surprised if pilot cars and over width permits will be needed whenever moving equipment etc on public roads. IMHO

I think what we had in Europe was maybe fairer. Farm fuel was strictly for field use. But then you have an enforcement issue.
