He has an interesting take on the energy business. Read his views. It is pretty wordy, but you don't need to read it all to get the gist of his opinion. He has an update at the bottom where he explains how the recent price drop has affected his views on energy, and biodiesel in particular.

Yeah I think this guy has slightly unrealistic expectations. Don't get me wrong, he has some valid points, but its highly unlikely anyone would live up to his expectations!
Perhaps he should look at leaving farming and focus on oilfield consulting if he can't find competent people to work for him.
Remember, everything that is good and bad about your business is a direct reflection of your management.
As a manager you are either coaching people up or coaching them out.

Funny, he is a long time consultant.
Don't be too jealous of us who 'just farm' in Alberta. This is what we deal with every day.

All though semi accurate his oil industry analyze is quite simple and not that impressive.

The guy has been on service rigs for the past 30 years.

There's a reason it's called a circus rig... he's the head clown.

Anyone else think right now he is dressed in 18nth century armour holding a sword while his wife is at his feet holding onto his leg starring up at him and a guy is painting the scene on a life size canvas and they have been at it for two days straight?

I for one think he deserves a round of applause, albeit a very slow mocking clap.

Never married? If he comes across in real life like he did in that rant, I'm not surprised. She wouldn't measure up anyway or couldn't possibly meet all his expectations. Hope he enjoys loving and making love to his cold hard cash....

U have no friggin idea.
The whole district knows him as either superfarmer or book of knowledge.
Actually not a bad guy. Just a social idiot.

The reference to stuck and ball sports shows this guy is a loner with little social skills . Probably very good at an individual job like a safety prick. Obviously has some money to play with - will be interesting to see his worker turnover - lol
He would get laughed at here with only 5500 ac or whatever he spouts about .
