Grade factor, HRS, Durum!

Well most have had a visit from the local rep to measure their piles and bags and bins.
Most probably now know their grade etc.
Some are having issues with Grain companies telling them its not a saleable product yet Crop insurance says its a three.
Ah games of the wheat trade.
Need to know if the one insurance company is forcing farmers with shit Durum to Bury the grain so they cant sell it in the future, then they will be paid. That I think is the Global risk or what ever its called.
But simply if you grew 55 bushels of Wheat and grade factor is 38% you have 34 bushels of production.
Most I guess have a long term yield of say 42 at 70% is 29.4 or your just short 4 bushels a acre. Your check on a 1000 acres for grade factor is 24000.00 But if the elevator says your shit out of luck its back to grade it again etc.
The Grade factor I feel is wrong this year for wheat.
What are others finding.
I'm over on wheat so not a issue but seems their is lots texting that it is, So today I have to ask what's every ones experience with the grade factor this year.

I would say it's a learning curve. If this happens again, Guys won't bother combining they will burn it.

Different elevator guys have told me that had farmers brought a sample in they would've suggested burning the fields.

It was that bad.

See on the Durum I have heard that, Lots have to buy out of contracts that they did for a #2 durum at 20 bushel a acre. Grain is unsaleable.

But the industry has one advantage its called farmers Bull shit Pride. Or BSP disease.
See no one ever says they had a shitty crop or shitty grade or shitty luck. Its better to sit in silence and do nothing, Say its great and finally just take it.
And that my friends is why the industry will always win. Farming you can never show your weaknesses.

Going forward I think guys will pre price a 3cwad. And look for premiums.

The end users played their hand this year and said they will pay more for a 3cwad if need be.

If it's unsellable - production should be zero.

Agree on the Zero production if the product is Unsaleable.

Yes I cant imagine having product that is unsaleable. But they told us in 2002 that oats was so light that it wasn't worth selling. So binned and magically it sold for almost $4 a couple years later to the same company.
Ah grain markets. That's probably why the insurance company wants farmers to bury it.

Just curious what the downgrading factor is that makes it unuseable. Furasium. Heated. Something else.

I disagreed with CI grading once and had them regrade. They changed to my grade and adjusted payout.

I realize it is hard for a lot of us to do but sometimes just sitting on that crop for a year or two is the best move that can be made. We have had that happen with oats and canola. Couple years after the shit storm blew over they were glad to handle it for more money than the first price quoted.
These are the games we have to get used to if u wanna play this game. They will steal it if u let them.

Charlie I always said you would be way better at this if you just took a drive out of good old Alberta and see that Canada is a huge country with a lot of different farms than just a pump jack.
Durum with high high high vomi and touch of frost and basically not very nice at all. Ugly shit.
