BTO glabrous versus hairy canary? Yield advantage, hairy. Only grew the stuff(Maria) twice, one year 1250 lbs and easy thrashing next year 500 lbs and like putting rolls of barbwire through the combine. Its a good crop to speculate with. Grow it and if you don't like the price leave it in the bin. Was told by Mr. Bill May that there is always a good yield response to potash (it likes the chloride). I was thinking about growing some as an alternative to the excessively fusarium susceptible durum. There are supposedly some new better yielding glabrous varieties available. DYODD!!!

the problem with this years quality is high levels of stinkweed and that is a huge problem for the processors. more time and more expenses to clean to max 15 seeds/kg, with the consequences of failure at the border being rejection and punitive costs.
