    Satellite Tech

    Dear Charlie,

I a astounded we can know 24/7 where all our tractors and combines are... and they can loose $100M airplanes with hundreds of people on board?

Many have said the tech does't exist to track Airplanes. A LIE.

"FLYHT’s AFIRS 228 Iridium Global Communications System provides aircraft crew with reliable voice and data services using Iridium’s global satellite network. Data based services available through the AFIRS 228 include automated OOOIs, flight following, engine trending, live-FOQA exceedance reporting, and fuel management."

Canada's 'First Air' that flys in the north.. has equipped all their aircraft. So has Warren Buffet's Air Fleet hundreds in total.

Why has the airline industry failed to operate in a responsible way?

Do they intentionally want us to die and not be rescued?

This AFIRS 228 FLYHT is Canadian tech based in Calgary.

We should demand this be installed... especially on aircraft that fly in the north or over oceans.

    Cheers!

Is it expensive? Almost zero margins from "competition/deregulation". Huge demand yet cost of flights is cheap in real dollars, is why everyday there are 300,000 people in the air. Therefore extremely SAFE?

Under $100K with many operational benefits for efficiency, maintenance and fuel economy.

          We use sat tech extensively.

How many grain growers fly commercially7? Yet the main air carriers refuse to properly equip aircraft.

Risk management. For $100 a elt can be purchased that within 15 minutes search and rescue will be finding out why there is a problem.

Farm use of Atv, snow machines, horses cross country skiing should be an everyday part of risk assessments. Do you have an emergency plan?

If someone working for you is hurt will they get the help that they need if seriously injured? In time to save their lives?

            Personal Locator Beacons.

            How a PLB Works
PLBs transmit powerful signals at 406 MHz (MegaHertz), an internationally recognized distress frequency monitored in the U.S. by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the AFRCC (Air Force Rescue Coordination Center).

A PLB communicates with a network of Russian, Canadian, American and French military satellites known as COSPAS-SARSAT (SARSAT is an acronym for "Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking").

After receiving your transmission, these satellites "fix" on your location using a Doppler Shift method and relay your information to the AFRCC where search and rescue procedures begin. If you use a GPS-compatible PLB, you can deliver your GPS coordinates very quickly without having to wait for the satellites to determine your position.

We have the risk management tools that can save lives. Will we learn about them?

Has your farm... at work or while at 'PLAY'... got an emergency plan to save the most important part of our farms... our people if in a serious accident???

How much of your operation has cell dead spots... that communication is not dependable?

We are participating in a 'Farmsafe' plan to look at risks to our people and the public. Have you a written emergency plan for your farm???

Someones life may depend on it!

            Cheers!

I seen one of them personal locator beacons on kijiji while looking for ski equipt. Could have used one of them 15 years ago when I had a certain hired man not show up a bunch of times. Or another time not long ago when the hired man picked a few quarters of the neighbours rocks. I will leave the tech to you young guys tom.
