    Positives in Ag in Canada!

    1. Diesel is dropping in price, yes its winter shit but still kind of nice to fill up the big tanks and pay 20% less.
    2. No one is shooting at you for drawing a cartoon or you don't need a guard at the side of your field with a Ak47 just to protect you while your spraying seeding or harvesting.
    3. This cold weather does kill bugs and naturally causes the soil to frack.
    4. Stable government. Even if we don't agree all the time with what their doing. Yes we should all be more involved so farmers rights are protected not squandered away.
    5. I'm grasping at straws for the 5th but others must have some positives that I have missed.
Add to the list its a cold cold windy thirsty Thursday!

You honestly think what happenned in France can't happen here? Actually most people I talk to expect it will. We ve gone too far with the lets hold hands mentality. Jmo

I would add that Ag has done a lot to allow you to grow wealth. You have on Agriville and if I remember right, you purchased land a few years ago ahead of the run up in prices. I suspect net worth has improved quite significantly.

In our day to day life there are a lot of positives but on the farming front they can be hard to find at times, if you look long and hard enough you'll see some. But let's be honest both ways....

Again in the past I was trying to show the realities of farming and warn people of what was coming now that it's here we need to adapt quick and realize they humor maybe all we have some days. Companies look after only one thing their bottom line, they don't give a shit if farmers make a dime they really don't. Farming is not a easy profession, if it was every one would do it.
I still hope one day we will be on top and command a fair price for our goods. But like the last time when canola went through the roof the companies told us they can't make any money paying that amount so sell us your product. It was bull shit they made the packages smaller and still made a buck. Now their making huge Bucks yet when the shoe is on the other foot. You mr farmer have to make due with less.
                      It's the circle of life.

I pointed out some things showing hownthe consumer is even getting screwed. Same product-less volume-same OR more money. Time to shrink our bushels or tonnes and ask the same OR more money. Does the average consumer realize how they are getting hosed. Paint is a prime example-imperial gallon to U.S. gallon to something less than that and continually shrinking..... many examples in food packaging too. They can't shrink a liter, pound, kilo, gram but they sure as hell can give you less. Maybe that's why it's so hard to swallow the price of a "pound" of canola seed or a tonne of fertilizer. Should we be buying 12oz.lbs. and 1800lb tonnes to make the price more palatable? Get the picture?
