Throughout this thread I should have made it clear I was talking about extremist Muslims. Extremists of any faith, sex, etc. are dangerous.

Our community was lucky to have had (for too short a time) a female Doctor that was a devout Muslim. She saved my wife's life by early diagnosing a dangerous and rare cancer. This woman was a skilled and caring Doctor.

To have seen her work close hand, it's hard to imagine a society that would not allow a woman the equal opportunity to pursue medicine, or for that matter anything that she would seek.

Being part of our Western culture, Charliep, requires a belief in the right to free speech, the recognition of equality of gender, the protection of children, and the right to chose a religion without penalty. Few infidels want to be told, "Convert or die".

Islam itself, neither recognizes nor meets any of these requirements in countries where Sharia Law rules.

Islam is the moral guide for its' followers, but it promotes and dispenses Islamic doctrine, both moral and legal (Sharia Law), worldwide, from its' main centre of learning at their mother university in Saudi Arabia.

In other Islamic countries, where secularism bobs its' weary head, Islam often embraces Sharia Law as it's legal arm, albeit quietly, whilst working within secular surroundings. Women know it all too well. Parsley.

Women are most aware of the subtleties of Sharia Law being silently applied to only them, while men, worldwide, blissfully ignore genital mutilation, child marriages, honour killings, and covered faces. Men worldwide make excuses for these practices, defending Islam. Even in Canada, books and guides are distributed on how to beat your wife properly to make her obey.

Anyone awake who notes the swift changes in Syria and Libya and Yemen and Nigeria and on and on and on, see the trend to enforce Sharia Law, the legal arm of Islam.

Turkey's Erdogan is also moving in the direction he wants islam to go.

This is what you must ask yourself:

Are you prepared to ban criticism of Islam? Are you prepared to consent to our health care system providing clitorectomies for your daughters? Are you prepared to lower the marriage age to eight-and-up years old? Are you prepared to legalize the honour killing of women and daughters who shame their husbands and fathers, perhaps by wearing clothes deed inappropriate, or asking for a divorce?

Continued disproportionate immigration from Islamic counties will inevitably lead to being outvoted on the very values we now enjoy.

Women have a big stake in the growing demands of Islam in Canada. Ask your wives and daughters and sisters how they feel about their freedom to choose. And what they are willing to give up. Parsley

Many Canadians say Muslim immigrants coming to Canada have every right to choose not to come if they don't like our culture .

They keep arriving.

Charliep tells us to ask Muslims what they think. Should we ask if they accept living under the Rule of Law in Canada? Or we could ask if they have adjusted to Canadian values? Or perhaps we should ask why they seem to gather in cultural enclaves?

A true Muslim worships and practices Islam. And Islam considers all laws illegal... except Sharia Law. Every Muslim, whether you eye them up as moderate or extremist, braveheart, understand that the Rule of Law is not legal, according to Islam.

And you do realize that Sharia Law and the Rule of Law are incompatible, don't you?

The problem is this:
It is impossible to distinguish between the immigrants from Islamic countries who will embrace our way of life, from those true Islamists who want our Canadian culture to slowly introduce and adapt to Sharia law, and finally, to accept their own religious laws.

Well said Parsley. Many do not understand that even those of Islam who are or appear moderate, will not defend an infidel or a Muslim who does not comply with Sharia law. And so the Imams will always rule.
Muslim intent is to bring the entire world to their religion.
