Market analyst pours water on land/ag investors at land investment expo

    http://m.agriculture.com/news/business/wst-investment-out-re-farml-invest-says_5-ar47162#.VMZWlDIM-Po.hootsuite

article highlights one analysts take on the current situation in ag. I found his take on the possible impact of ethanols demise interesting.

It hasnt really been discussed here yet, but with low oil prices, rack prices for gas and diesel should come down which makes ethanol/biodiesel more uncompetitive. With worsening budget outlooks govt's could be enticed to drop their subsidization of eth/bio and or the % mandates. Corn, utility wheat, oilseed demand/price would take a beating!

I have to agree. Low oil makes me nervous also. Since our grain prices are relying on demand from ethanol and biodiesel and if it was not there woa. And to a large degree.

I actually do not know what I am paying for diesel today. But went skiing wapiti on saturday and through melfort the mac store advertised 85 gas and 120 diesel. 35 cents diff? Should not be.

Last fillup of clear diesel that i can check was edson, ab ufa @ $0.8699. that would be $0.7799 to compare for a Dyed price. still organized theft compared to gas.
