    Deliveries to North Dakota

Farmers that farm on both sides of the border how are you making out in wheat prices? Can you deliver your Canadian wheat to US as they bring Canola corn or soy up here? Oh are you discounted for being Canadian

Some companies discount sometimes. Some don't. It depends on how easy it is to segregate, whether it's going to a State mill (involving some subsidization), etc. Shop around. Varieties can even make the difference ie Faller no discount through ADM.

Right now their price is so poor and grain movement is so dismal, in ND, for our farm local bids are better. Your experience where you are might be different.

Watch for premiums for old and new crop wheat to hit the ground Monday. Cargill started Friday with a measly 25cents, but others are over sold and looking for grain

I get being oversold and having to raise your bid - but new crop? I don't get that. Loads of time yet to cover a short. And how short would they be at this point?

You don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

Graincos have to throw a carrot out to be able to keep milking the cash cow.

It's like getting paid by the government to implement an app on grain pricing when all changes required to fix the problems need government legislation. You won't get off this cow now. You will be able to milk this cow into retirement.

                Why do I mention this?

Because the data and analysis for all this is there. Happened in 1997.

It's a well known fact our railways are under performing. Prime example is why is klause trucking grain from humbolt to altona.

Look at the traffic on the Trans canada highway. Most if it is just a download from the railways.

The other indicator the railways and graincos are under performing is the fact that some points go a month without loading cars. And they truck from one point to another driving parallel to a railroad 50 yards from the highway.

Potash plants export 10 million tonnes a year and work 24/7. There isn't a grain elevator open past 8 o'clock with 45 million tonnes to go. See the issue between graincos and railways.

You depape, are getting paid to analyse and implement a data base. If the canadian government would take a look at the usda programs they would be 10 steps ahead.

Also interesting is that you get paid from the government, read taxpayer, and you make it into a subscription service. That's sweet. But the masters or cheerleaders of this don't believe in government subsidized farms? Interesting.

Back to deliveries to ND, sometimes you're discounted, sometimes not. It depends how difficult it is to segregate, whether it's going to a State mill, etc. Shop around. ie ADM taking Faller wheat last year there was no discount.

Right now elevators are less willing to take grain from outside their normal customer base, Can or US.

I'm not sure about others location, but from here our local terminals have better prices than ND where grain movement has been dismal. I think the high US dollar is hurting more than futures.

                    Dumb question here.

Why with their expertise why do graincos let farmers chase these market?

Even with a couple phone calls between buyers they could ship the product from existing stocks?

So let's say an end user needs a specific quantity and quality. Calls up a canadian elevator offers a premium for in store stocks and then the canadian elevator could offer a premium to refill.

Seems like a win win for everyone in grain movement. Farmer gets a short haul, grainco makes money and railway gets revenue as well.
