Since Dec 30, the CAD has dropped about 9%

A calculated CAD basis (like you and bucket want) widened 3%

The "posted" basis (like they use in ON) improved about 8%

Which one is showing the impact of FX?

Yea had to chuckle when I read that article , funny thing right below is a good article about "Canadian wheat markets lack transparency " . The author needs to read his own paper so he can get informed. But also what is wrong with one of FCC's top people not knowing what is really going on in wheat markets in Canada ??? Guess he also does know we are paying U.S. dollars for fertilizer produced here, and that the price has substantially increased , or that fuel prices are increasing now as oil goes down ???? Everyone needs to comment on this junk and maybe phone FCC to and tell them whats going on . Maybe they are not aware ?

The truth is producers will never get an accurate breakdown of the basis because it would divulge their margins and validate just how badly producers are getting screwed. Instead we get the usual rhetoric from the puppets representing the "old boys club". Funny how gouging by grain companies has been a criticism
throughout the history of the Canadian grain industry and continues into today.Some things never change.
