Fjlip, does your plan extend to Hutterite colonies?

Brave, I'm going to guess fjlip is thinking about legislation that bans Sharia Law in Canada, which is not in contravention of our constitution. Hutterites are subject to the rule of Law. And follow it. Sharia Law is the legal arm of Islam and Islamists constantly push to spread their net of Sharia in every country they enter. Meat. Washing facilities. Mingling of men and women. Banking. Etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, fjlip. Pars.

Pars, I knew that's what fjlip meant. Once again I was just wondering how far does a ban go?

The "bottomest" line for me is the inequality of women, which fjlip also finds offensive, and I thank him for that. All mothers and daughters, in fact, all Canadian women thank him for this acknowledgement and his support. Women are not allowed to drive in some Islamic countries. Women's estates and wills are problematic.. Muslims don't subscribe to paying interest, so banking systems are asked to change. Teachers in schools in Canada are asked to excuse Muslim students from music class because it is against their religion.

          Yes,, well.

There are many immigrants other than Muslims, who are more than willing to become citizens of Canada, who do not demand creeping accommodation - with the goal of crreeping Sharia Law.

Ordinary citizens can change trends. pars

I would encourage you to check your factors. Most Islamic countries allow women to drive. Saudi Arabia would be an example where they are not. A lot of the other information is based more on the tribal culture that is still in place in many areas of the world. Most Muslim countries are not that different than here. Most have many religions that live in relative Peace.

Perhaps to ask a question. As a question, you would require as matter of public policy that all muslim families that want to come to Canada to renounce their religion?

As a Canadian woman, I expect any Canadian govt in power to select immigrants who recognizes and accepts gender equality. And I'll lobby any govt to do do.

All Canadians should be willing to support an immigration policy that rejects admitting cultures who actively promote legalizing the inequality of women. Who promote the enslavement, and ****, and honour-killing of women. And those who condone legalizing child-brides.

They are acts of hate. And they are illegal in Canada. Why would ee encourage these very sponsors of hate to become the future base of our society?

Canadians can choose which immigrants who will best fit the needs of Canadian society. The skills, the professionals, the ages, the health are certainly important requirements. But also important is selecting those who will not only be willing to adjust to our Western way of life but actually want to become part of it. Who will support music and the arts just much as we do.

I want immigrants who respect Western women. Who reject female genital mutilation on girls. Who denounce legal religious jihad. And do it with pride.

Btw,In case you hadn't noticed, Charliep, the Middle East is blood-red from barbaric jihad, and the numbers and variety and severity and boldness of atrocities grow every day.

Wherher its M.E. or EU or NA, terror grows.

In Nigeria, in Syria, in China, in Iraq, in Indonesia, In Russia, in France, in Lebanon, whether it's burning a man alive in Jordan, or beheading a man on a bus in rural Manitoba, ... What can I say?

Let us tally the geographic atrocities, Charliep, and think about the barbarity in these countries, and the fact is that all of them have ONE commonality.

                Can you name it ?

Our society does not need to import citizens who put our society at risk... in any way. The main job of any government is to protect its citizens. And an enhanced immigration selection process is a protection-tool we have not used enough.

I'll repeat that for you... Our society has a choice... And we have NO need to import any person, any family, any professional group, or any culture that will not be as valuable to our society as other applicants can be.

We are not like the EU where EU passport holders can legally move seamlessly from country to country. We can CHOOSE those whom we want to live beside.

And I'd really appreciate if AV'ers give a more stringent immigration-selection process some further thought. Pars.

So you are saying people should be judged on where they come from and not who they are?

I live, work, play, breath in a multi culture world. The values you attribute to people who come to Canada don't apply for the most part. They come here to work and raise a family. We are not a melting like the US but most families adapt to Canadian life. They add value and richness to being a Canadian. This is a core value that I hold dear.

I can't find the story but I remember a story about a mosque (I think Grand Center, Alberta but not sure) that was vandalized after our recent lone wolf (home grown) ISIS events. People of the community got together to right the wrong that had been done. I would like to think I would be a part of the latter and not the first.

Should have been Cold Lake - not far apart but to be correct.

With all due respect charliep, your ignoring the facts and living on hope. If you would study basic islam a bit and the news out of the middle east, then i'm sure you would see clearly the points and concerns being made. And that they are legitimate.
