    Diesel Down So farmers are Smiling! Another Stupid Article!

    In todays Leader Post their is a article on Page two how farmers are dancing in the street because the price of fuel one of their basic inputs is dropping and its good times ahead full bore.
    WTF the writer didn't mention is how the Chem Fert and Seed costs have gone up and up and up.
    So big deal if I Joe Farmer Save 10000 to 25000 this year and its only Feb they will jack the price by May.
    Fert for the guys who didn't buy are going to face a 30% to 40% increase so big deal we save 10000 if on the other side we loose 100000.00
    Great Country great times ahead boys and Girls.

        Dunno about you all, but the other thing is that fuel is one of my smallest costs in the first place. Be different if it was fert or seed.

          Biggest cost is the theft on wheat prices because of exchange. Four times more than any fuel savings here.

            the best thing to do is call these people that know nothing of what they write , or at least email them . same as that article on low dollar being good for farmers in WP . I am also going to call FCC today about their expert not knowing what's going on with cdn wheat markets . comment in newspaper also. the less you do , the more of this stupid crap that will make print , and bringing examples up on here is a good start so people can call them and make them accountable

              Funny at car dealer and equipment plus bin sled cleaning store! All have deer in headlights look! Worst jan for sales in years! Can't blame it on cold weather! Sled sales is even worse! Yes it's oil but grain isn't picking up the slack either!

                Calgary housing down 10% in price in Jan over Dec. Couple that with a $cdn decline of 20% it adds to a 30% loss of value in the last 6 months. Falling knife time.

                  We ended locking in some of our summer diesel this week 76.9 for summer diesel, due May 1.
                  I dont know if thats the best price but its alot cheaper than we have been paying.

                    What is today's rack price in Regina?

                    Can individual farmers buy a full semi load direct off the Regina rack?

                    How does, or what's the procedure for doing this?
