Thats not the whole story....... find out about unloading fees, brokerage, inspection fees, and then transportation to your storage. Is that in US$, as most things are traded that way. Is there a cost for the bags on top?

FOB = Freight on board loaded ship.

Cost to bring it into central Sask add another 100 a tonne to it.

Still way less than local bids.

I am not a freight broker, that's for sure. So not being critical, but I look at the last line of your quote and notice container CFR Vancouver 470USD/tonne.
CFR=cost and freight landed Vancouver? If so that's getting up there.

                  Yes, you're right.

Also through a logistics company, there's a $40 difference between them doing it, and having it done by Hamburg-Sud.

I think they are putting a pretty good markup in their "logistics" services.

Also, these prices aren't close to the lowest bids I got on urea, but their phos and sulphur is very competitive compared to other bids.

A $110 USD/tonne charge from port to port?
I would think there is profit there!
Might not even include insurance while in transit.

How many tonnes does the ship hold of each product.
Sounds like these companies double there money on the products.

I responded back and asked if he could do better on the 470 CFR Vancouver.

He came back at $419 CIF Vancouver 1 tonne mini bulks (vs. 50kg bags)

                        That's looking better.

I must be missing something. 419 US is about 525 cdn per tonne plus 110 handling and freight is 635 cdn/tonne in bags. I dont see the value in this Urea versus local buying at 650. Will prilled urea work?

419 is freight insurance handling in.
