Over 500 dues paying members. Who wrote cheques to keep the lights on. That would range from farms like ours with 16000 acres and three families making decisions to sole properties, farmer and their dog.

Board members are voted in every AGM.

Recruited from membership and outside as farmers who realize policy is important to all farmers bottom lines.
I wasn't a member when asked to sit. I had run in the CWB elections and recruited.

are all 500 dues paying members farmers? if not how many actual farmers are members? are there members who do not pay dues? how many and who do they represent?

The groups that represent farmers should have been on this file long before the contract deadline.

Waiting until a month after the deadline and farmers as individuals start expressing their concerns isn't representation from these groups.

Got a call from the transport ministry yesterday. My impression after a good discussion is that they don't have an idea of what's going on out here. Not sure they are monitoring that close either to each rail/ branch line.

Reports should be a general overview with specifics in the back.

I think it would help if all farmers would call about the poor service in their areas and suggest solutions.

I've been to four AGMs now. I think the bang we get for our buck is substantial. Even personally the associations I've made for my fee is incredible compared to the usual speakers at grower or industry meetings. Not too many VPs or Chairmen come to butthole AB to have a drink.
Personally, I see a skill and knowledge set required for this board that I for one don't possess. All your facts on command and a tight rein on your emotions and tongue isn't always me. As I doubt it applies to most on here.
The hoi ploi's job is to keep the wcwga and its board informed. The board could reciprocate occasionally, or even ask.
