The overcharging of rail freight is the amount of money into the WGRF. Not every year but there have been good amounts some years.

It was proven they had been overcharging for car maintenance years ago. Some one fell asleep monitoring it.

Hey I agree if my grain gets sent to vancouver via railcar and I pay the freight and other costs to get it there, if I receive a fair return on it, it's great. Problem is, we are not even close.

Freight cost moose jaw to Vancouver is around 35 per tonne using 100 car unit train.

You tell me where the rest of the money is?

There have been unbiased individuals that have tried to broker a deal to put the NFU and the wcwga in the same room to represent farmers on common issues.

      Those groups won't do it.

Politicians like it that way and so do industries in the chain.

Individuals that try on their own are either ostricized or told to join a group. In other words told to **** off or conform.

You are on the right track and agree. But you have a steep climb ahead of you.

Political staff become ignorant or arrogant. Politicians rarely call back until election time.

And almost everything needed to fix farming issues requires legislation.

Ritz is only listening to one group which only has the interests of 500 paying members out of a farming population of 75000 farmers.

That's less than 1 percent of the farming population influencing the ag minister.

You sound like me 20-30 yrs ago.
Do yourself a favor. Drop the "were
All fkd, everybodys *** us, everything is nothing but completely and permanently fkd" outlook on life. Youll see your mistakes earlier and might live longer than I will.

Go buy a semi and truck your grain miles further than should be required.

When you are done paying for fuel tires and another semi after you wear the first one out, you can enter the club of conformists that say it all makes sense to drive past what should be a highly efficient grain system.

But don't blame the railways or graincos - blame yourself. Geezus.

Dml because you asked so nicely.
All/none/somewhere in between. Our regs say they don't have to be but I suspect most/all are.

You going to attack arguments or stick to the numbers?

Bucket. That's pretty much it. If your issues are our members issues we'll see what we can do. If your issues are your issues.......

You people are railing against what a voluntary group is accomplishing. Lots of avenues if you spent as much time contacting organizations you have to belong to as you do on here you would be better off.

Better yet throw your hat I. The ring and get involved.
            All the best Gerrid

Sooner or later you realize the pig enjoys it.
We can all agree the system needs work. Half of the population on here while not being part of the problem per se, arent necessarily part of any solution.

I guess you get what somebody else wants when you let them solve your problems for you...

Make sure you know whose bed the Org your relying on the represent your interests is lying in.

Don't expect, or be so naive to think, the other Players whose hands are in your pocket to make changes to your benefit.

I look forward to seeing your ideas.

Hopefully it will advance a strong voice to encourage young people to enter farming.

Sadly I have found that presenting ideas to groups or politicians directly goes nowhere even though it takes politicians to make the changes.
