    Economics

Have only scaled through it but it looks like a heck of a good read, sounds like we are going to get trapped in a blizzard, and some may need something to read on the beach while sipping on drinks(jealous).looks like it basically talks about the state of things in western economies.

i only got part way thru tonight, but it is a really a great read.
clear and it makes sense so far,

kinda high lights what i always thought
about being born near the end of the baby boom.
least opportunities when your young and the well sucked dry by retirement.

i am OK , but would be nice to give the offspring a heads up about what we could be looking at in the future.

How do you tell anyone from the 30 and under group that things could get bad , when they have had it so easy so long?

Boarder, yes funny how some countries kept their gold or even increased it while the dumb ass canadians dumped it all, there is a remote possibility that some day we wake up to a gold standard and our dollars are worthless.

Saw,can't agree with you on the baby boom thing,it will be looked at as one of the greatest periods to have been born.

All the boomers should be ashamed of themselves, you essentially borrowed from the future generations to fund yourself in the moment and had no ****ing clue about good governance, not that the pryer generation didn't play a big role in it.Guess you all where to focused on elvis shaking his hips and the beatles haircuts to pick up a book and wonder why they took the silver out of silver dollars and what path we heading down.

The only reason i don't pull out a big stick and hand out a well deserved verbal beating on you old farts is the fact that my generation and the next is about as smart as a bag of hammers and would have and do vote for the same ungodly principals.

But in the end it seems Aldous Huxley was more right than George Orwell,we have embraced "it".

That article didn't teach me a single thing, but now i have an easy reference history lesson that i can give people when i get into an argument ,and that article explains it in the most simplest way possible, unbelievable writing.

          Cotton,

I there a way to get the baby boomers money? I think we could sell them anti aging stuff, maybe even a little decent nutrition? Will baby boomers slow down borrowing on things and stuff and just get back to living good and eating more carefully?

I will have to read the article because I really don't know much about the history of money and gold and silver. I just missed the baby boom, but parents were very risk adverse, so i seldom "got" anything I asked for!
The next generation after me simply knows about getting stuff and what it will cost per month. I blame a lot of that on advertising and media stimulation. Best example is,If you can fog a mirror, you can own any vehicle (things and stuff) you desire because someone (media) is telling you it's ok.
Perceived wealth and success are on television every minute of the day from $20,000 sweet sixteen birthday parties ,$50,000 wedding dresses and guys fixing up houses to sell for $400,000 in the middle of the desert. It's difficult for young people to sort through all those perceived successes on television.
