    Freewheat

I thought about that but that would mean I would have to start paying for therapy because I would lose my right to bitch.

I voted for these guys. I just don't think they deserve another.

i think it is hopeless, the only 2 or 3 ways of fixing it are just not gonna happen.

even the only real free market solution requires breaking up the existing monopoly. and let anyone run a train down the tracks.

But that pretty well requires the govt. to nationalize the rail beds. and build infrastructure. not gonna happen.

Even if you could find a govt. with the will to do it .
Mulroney gave away our govt.s ability to do that in NAFTA.
( when would the united states agree to tie their own hands? but we do)

Capitalism /free enterprise is a great system for getting stuff done.
but you still have to police it.
that is not happening in Canada.

it is not that Conservative voters mean ill to this country. they just do not pay attention to who is really calling the shots.

As far as Trudeau, i agree , he probably worries more about his hair than shipping grain. it's fluff

and the NDP , well i really think it is better that Harper ride this ship to the bottom.

        .

Should this be solely farmers against railroads?

I would think the WGEA and ITAC should be leading with farmers backing. Maybe even the mills, crushers, port terminals etc.

Farm groups have to ally with all shipping groups. It won't get better.

Potash company at bethune will be putting 6 - 175 car unit trains into the system and will want to book track space.

It would be better to coordinate the space than argue about it.

The railways will force shippers to argue amongst themselves. But the shippers should be speaking with one voice to either get the railways increasing track capacity or get the government to open it up.

Pretty sure the potash mine will use those 175 car unit trains instead of calling a trucking firm to haul potash to another loading site south of the border and make sense of it. Think about that statement.
