It is hard to understand why someone would be opposed to a 100% matching Agriinvest fund that requires $0 from an accountant.

Richard5 is in a small minority on this issue.

I didn't say I was against it. the debate is scraping programs that some don't like.

Politcally and practically it's a program that doesn't make sense because the benefit drops when the tough time hits.

Others have said on here that the lucky ones with multiple good years develop good reference margins for agri stability and now may collect.

How is it any different for a farm that's experienced five to seven great years and getting max agriinvest also

For those that don't value the accountants advice or preparation costs, get a different accountant that maybe knows something about ag or figure out how to process yourself

That's my contribution to this debate, that all

Fair enough we are all entitled to our own opinion.

I like the "keep it simple" approach of diverting the Agristability budget to Agriinvest and/or crop insurance. I believe less government employees and waste would be required with my idea.

        Cheers.

Oliver, you seem to be under the impression that cutting programs is met with an equivalent reduction is government staffing.

Best joke I've seen all day. Thank goodness it's still early.

Government is a freaking insidious form of cancer -it grows by invading everything around itself. Government is getting to be a sick joke, a corrupted caricature of democracy, justice and order.

Government seems to believe that we, the people, exist to justify their existence, rather than the other way around.

Golly, am I starting to sound like an anarchist? Well if I am, it's because the government changed, not me.

comparing agrinvest to agristablity is nuts. one's just a yearly agriculture subsidy dressed up as income stabilization (whats not to like), the other is insurance (whether you like it or not). the agristability fee is cheap, accountants are not. so the message is either do agristablity yourself and get rid of the pricey accountant, or get out of the program. no one's got a gun to our head to be in it.
