Did the railways have to refund the overage made from the years they got paid for maintenance on cars that didn't exist?

        Cole,

I can assure you, that from 1992 to 2006, THE DYNAMIC DUO... owe grain farmers in western Canada... 0.
10yrs x say to be generous... $50m... /yr not the 72m deemed to be actual amount overpaid in 07-08...

And that is in real terms... only half... as the basis was greater by the same amount... which domestic consumption got a discount ... say in Alberta... 50 percent is used locally and not exported... for Alberta grain growers... they lost on all the domestic grain sales as well.

As the old saying goes... all ships drop to the same level...

But then in Alberta there was the Crow benefit offset program... which paid back a calculated loss...

Clearly...Saskatchewan grain farmers would have been the principal beneficiaries had we succeeded in getting standing.

Well since you derailed this thread Tom. I'm trying to imagine the trucking industry in Alberta as we know it today with all the trailers owned by the federal govt. Eventually they will all be owned by the RR or the graincos or some other shipper.

Saskatchewan, the source of well made Canadian manufactured farm machinery.

            Sorry BP...

But as I indicated earlier... the farmers in SK are most captive to the Dynamic Duo... and most damaged in captive undertakings.

Part of the community spirit... that is unique.

BYE the Way... leasing and having someone else own the iron... is often a great cost effective way to go!!!

Things to like about Saskatchewan? Its 26 miles from my farm in Alberta. I look in every so often to see if anything or anybody is stirring. Much quieter there than living in Alberta.

Starting up the snowmobiles then watching the kids drive over to their cousins 3 miles away - and not worry about a damn thing .
