    Pricing off future months

I heard some companies flipped all the way to Nov for canola pricing....

    Can they do that?

Who is going to stop them?

If the graincos could trade off the 2025 futures they would. By then farmers are supposed to be producing 25 million to one's and it should be worth about 2 bucks a bushel. A 40 bpa won't pay the seed cost.

Canola price off the west coast is only 500 a tonne now.

So that would be Jan or Feb delivery?
Nov contract plus 3 month delivery option.

Don't worry about it. I am sure it is for OUR best interest. Since marketing freedom on all grains have arrived, I know i feel much much better. Why I no longer need my blood pressure, cholesterol, flomax, anti- depressants, sleeping and even viagra pills. Thank you Mr. Ritz and Harper.

They can choose which ever month they like. However it is very unusual to use the new crop futures at this point in the crop year. Suggests that they is a reason why they don't want to sell any more old crop, probably to do with the large open interest in March, May and July.
