          Pars, if that was Obama's idea of a joke . . . I think the jokes on us. His speech yesterday on combatting ISIS shows he still doesn't understand. Or, does he.

            With the hog barn ban here in MB I feel more vulnerable.

            Anyone have any Berkshires we could just let run free range? We could make the food babe happy and keep the jihadists at bay all at once.

              Pars i remember us talking about Jane Jacobs quite awhile ago,and keep thinking about something she said in one of her massey?lectures in her own voice on cbc radio late one night while combining,and i keep stretching my memory into that 5 pillars books,but she kind of some how went into it a bit about globalization and what not,i just can't remember how it went.

                  Cott, Jan Jacobs viewed the ideal world as small communities within cities. She promoted the idea of 'small is beautiful.'; small businesses as essential to each area. The workers in the are a learning the skills, and perfecting them for those businesses. using and buying and eating local products. Maintaining local jobs. She got me thinking about Norway's peaceful secession from Sweden. A bit of an eccentric with her own ideas.
