    Quinoa

    Don't know much about it...

    Anyone grow it?

    #2
Yes twenty it so years ago. Wonderful crop. Healthy. Thick. Lower land. Lots of moisture. And then the Saskatchewan southeast-heat hit it in July. Three or four hundred degreeish days. That was the end of it. Can't stand the heat. Pars

I grew it one year. Not much in the way of herbicides to use, maybe Poast. End users would rather it be pesticide free anyway. Pretty light seed. Harvesting went okay. Quite a few years ago, I think we straight cut. Yielded about 10 bushels/ac if memory serves correct. Not a problem in the following years from volunteers. My sample was too weedy for buyer and it got dumped over the bank.

Reminds me of my frozen anise experiment. Dumped into the hills.

And it reminds me of my son's 40 acres of dill.

Wow, I didn't know there was any place in Canada that got that hot! The hens must have been laying hard-boiled eggs! LOLLZ!

Oh wait - did I read that wrong?
