Quick , Bayer needs your help !

    http://www.producer.com/2015/02/farmers-needed-for-food-fight/

Apparently they don't realize we are overproducing and driving the market down . Maybe they finally realized sales of seed are down , probably would never occur to them that they have priced themselves out of the market . Add your comments to this ridiculous article in western producer at bottom of article . Can't believe they print this stuff

    poor bayer
there will always be a market for
    bulk production ,

so every organic acre that produces for the high end customer.
is one less to flood the market and depress price.

and if their unabated greed continues.

we may all be looking for methods of production rather than being trapped in theirs.

this whole thing sounds a lot like the " we are your business partners "line that the grain .co.s spewed the last few years.
and we know how that worked out.

Maybe if the consumer wins and we all have to stop producing the way we are and have to go back to the old ways our price will go up. These companies see something and want us to talk up our industry so they can survive. Hm! Bayer needs help!

what really should be conveyed to consumers is .
how the corporate control of all seeds
is going to add a huge cost to all consumers.
this middle man between farmer and producer , raising production costs.
right now canola has a 30% production cost increase due to seed control.
with the additional control of the other open pollinated crops. (UPOV91)

you could be looking at a 40-50%
production cost increase on all grains and oil seeds.

and since this control (patents)(contracts) never expires.
the public or farmer never sees a benefit. just end up paying forever.

it is just a trap for farmer and consumer.

where the richest 1% rakes in 1 in 3 food dollars from the world .

and not by improving production, but simply by controlling the seed

Lots of people are talking lower quality and higher production. We had that this year, Good yield but poor quality. Last year we had high production of good quality. How's that been working for you all so far.
I would rather see the bins 1/2 full of $10 what than FULL of $5 wheat.

The elevators used to blame the CWB so we fixed that. Now they are blaming the RR's when that gets fixed (IF) they will start blaming the farmers.

There is a huge disconnect from farmer to consumer. The consumer needs to be told who is controlling agriculture. They need to be told that the govt sold out Ag to big business, duponts, dows, monsantos, and that is who is controlling agriculture with there contolled seed sales,GMO,s ,UPVO 91 etc. Large percentage of consumers have no clue where their food comes from and no clue who controls it.

Like I said earlier! The jig is up they see a week point in their plan. The consumer they forgot about. Time will tell.

Sorry Richard, I am not incorporated and my farm is not that large. I like owning my farm not sone company Number. That should be another thread.
As far as the 0% There is an extra fee, I just get the dealer to add it to my trade so you can pay it..... LOL.
There is no right answer for every farm so do what you think is right and that is the great part about farming.

I once called the government when I thought it was odd that potash was worth less in china than it was in saskatchewan.

There was no problem they said.

SF3 if you were a foreign buyer you would be looked after.

Get Chinese buyer to order and have delivered to your place.
Cheaper price and immediate delivery. Likely on interest free credit.

Bought in November it's all home but 195T.
The remaining will get home in 10 days after I get home from a little vacay.
For fun I priced out N, real cheap 650T, P a respectable 850T, absolutely crazy. Again, they will show us everyone should have bought early.

Ummmm....i think the dirty field, low yeilding, welfare tractor driving organic kooks have been drumming out these messages almost exactly as you describe them for about a decade.
Dont start getting all kooky just because the soup is gettng a little thin. In 3 months from now you can fertitilize and spray to your hearts content and scowl at the funny flowers in the organic field.
The starving world needs highly efficient low cost producers to feed 6-9 billion people in the future. The supply side of the industry wants a part of that sweet action.
I am aware that that UPOV 91 will affect all grain farmers in Canada and I have emailed and spoken to my MP about how the large mainstream seed compnies will ultimately control the farmers this will be the crime of the century. If there are petitions online or old style please post them. Control the seed "technology" , control the cost, control the farmer, control production. Within another decade, it may be that a farmer may only be able to grow canola in an Input Capital Corp style of protocol.
