1 ton oil equals 6.5 barrels
    1 barrel is 50 dollars
1 ton equals 325.00 per ton
8.86 dollar per bushel wheat equivalent usd
So for comparative 60 lbs of crude oil is worth 8.86usd dollars. 1.47 per gallon based on 10 lbs per gallon

Not sure of these numbers. Ro water sells for about a dollar to 1.25 per gallon. Seems a lot of work goes into oil compared to ro water.

Hopper... it would be interesting to know... how much shippers pay... for the canadian distance... of our oil to US destinations! not much difference would be my educated guess?

Can someone find out, the cost of grain vs oil to the same US or Canadian port position please? Cost per tonmile for oil cars?

Arbitrage value added by shipping to alternate position... amount capture in percent by rail?

DO railco's lower freight rates... as oil price falls???

Might be of value to do a comparison for CTA submissions... service provisions/demurrage etc in rail shipping contracts !! !

What about lumber??? Cost per tonmile?
